Under the Influence Art Journaling
Featuring 9 individuals and their art we sample in our Art Journals.
How many times do you swipe through social media admiring the work of these wonderful, talented and generous artists and think, I'd like to try that?
Our Under the Influence series is your opportunity to do exactly that in community. You will be guided and prompted by watching Andrea, Artist and Session Facilitator, work along with you live.
We practice noticing and identifying which design principles and elements engage us as we create together under the creative influence of the featured artist.
What to Expect
- We will explore the art of the featured individual. Our focus will be on art that can be adapted to an art journal in a mixed media fashion.
- Our time together will be spent in study and observation of the selected artist of the session for the first 10-15 minutes. After our visual inspiration we will co-create in response to what we identify as an "ingredient" we would like to focus on.
- This practice of consuming inspiration and responding in creative action has been the most powerful catalyst in growing my confidence in art making. I will be sharing my desktop view as I work through every step.
- Each session is 90 minutes long
- Live sessions will meet 9 consecutive weeks starting May 2, 2023: Tuesdays at 2pm Pacific Time and/or Wednesdays 10am Pacific Time. You may attend either/or both times
- Sessions will be recorded and stored in the classroom.
- You have long-term access to the content
- This is not a beginning Art Journaling Class. I recommend familiarity with terms and tools for your own comfort. Watch.Learn.Play. is a wonderful resource for Art Journaling and Mixed Media education.
